The treatment of growing ginger is an important link in ginger production. If it is not handled properly, ginger not only can not germinate, but also has the danger of rotten seed. Even if the seed is not rotten, it will sprout slowly and unevenly, and the yield is very low. Therefore, ginger should be treated scientifically before sowing.

First, drying seeds: about a week before sowing, put the whole piece of ginger in a single layer on a sunny day and dry it in a leeward, sunny, dry and warm place. It will be rolled out from 8: 00 a.m. to 9: 00 a.m. and withdrawn at 4: 00 p.m. every day. The next day, the ginger will be turned over at noon, and the ginger will be dried for several days. The outer skin of the ginger will be dry, white and slightly wrinkled, indicating that it has been sunburned.

Second, budding: sprouting after drying the seeds. Sprouting can promote the young buds of ginger to germinate as soon as possible and emerge quickly and neatly, so it is a very important technical measure. The commonly used method of sprouting is to put the ginger into a basket covered with straw, with its head facing in and feet facing outward. After putting it layer by layer, cover the straw curtain or straw, keep the basket moist and the temperature of 20Mui 30 degrees. After more than 20 days, the buds grow about 1 centimeter. It can also be placed in a greenhouse or plastic greenhouse to maintain a temperature of more than 20 degrees for budding. When sprouting, special personnel should be responsible for management, and problems should be solved in a timely manner, which is the key to good budding. After sprouting, plant ginger, then do a good job of selecting ginger, and get rid of those ginger that are yellow, how thin and weak the bud is, the bud tip is not strong, sick and non-sprouting.

Third, break into pieces: after the ginger sprouts are all together, first select the whole piece, and then select the buds to break into pieces. Be sure to choose fat ginger and ban lean ginger. For a whole piece of ginger weighing 0.5kg, it is appropriate to break 10 to 12 pieces, each with only one strong bud, stained with plant ash and planted after Grain Rain and before the Beginning of Summer.
