1. Keep warm

The cold tolerance of sheep is relatively strong, but in winter, the temperature of sheep house should not be lower than 0℃, lamb house should not be lower than 8℃, and the delivery room should be kept at 10℃-18℃. Before winter, the sheep house should be repaired as soon as possible, and the roof and walls should be repaired to prevent air leakage and snow leakage. For sheep pens located in the wild, wind barriers should be buried with corn stalks outside the north wall. Closed sheepfold, should be at the door, window hanging windproof straw curtain. Simple sheep greenhouse, eaves can be extended forward, erection of plastic greenhouse, top covered with grass curtain. Too cold season, should be in the pen inside the stove heating.

II. Group protection

Winter grazing can make sheep eat suitable pasture, but also can breathe fresh air, conducive to strengthening physique, exercise cold resistance, disease resistance, this is the main measure to protect the herd. Grazing should choose the sunny slope low concave land with good wind and sunny water source. In early winter, some grass and wild vegetables have not died yet. At this time, we should seize the time to graze, seize the favorable time when the sun is warmer at noon, and let the sheep eat more grass and wild vegetables as much as possible. In the late winter, the sheep are converted to house feeding. For weak sheep, special management measures should be implemented, such as feeding juicy feed, increasing concentrate feeding amount, strengthening physical exercise, etc.

III. Supply

High-quality green hay and crop straw of sheep, timely supplement soybean meal, corn, dried melon, wheat bran and other concentrates to ensure that each sheep can eat 200 - 250 grams of concentrate every day. The rams and ewes reserved for seed should be supplemented with 500 - 600 grams of concentrate per sheep per day. Daily regular supply of 2 - 3 times of drinking water, preferably drinking light salt water, water temperature of about 18℃. In the late winter season, even if the weather is very cold, try to let the sheep go out at noon on a sunny day to enhance their physique and improve their cold resistance. It is very important for ewes to keep fat. In the first trimester of pregnancy, the ration can be composed of 50% alfalfa, 30% green hay, 15% silage corn and 5% concentrate; in the later stage of pregnancy, the ration consists of 1 kg-1.5 kg green hay, 1.5 kg silage and 0.45 kg concentrate.

IV. Protecting the fetus

Male ewes should be kept separately to prevent rams from chasing and climbing pregnant ewes. Pregnant ewes should have separate pens, the door of the pens should be as wide as possible, the number of breeding in the pens should be appropriate, and the area of each pregnant sheep should reach 2 square meters-2.5 square meters to prevent pregnant sheep from being accidentally squeezed. To supply pregnant sheep with concentrate and light salt water, warm water must be used, ice water should be avoided, frost grass should be avoided, and reasonable feeding should be ensured. Daily management should be strengthened to prevent internal fights, fights, collisions and other behaviors among sheep. The grazing road should not be too far away, do not take steep slopes and dangerous roads, avoid man-made chasing, and prevent pregnant sheep from being frightened, jumping and slipping.

V. HEALTH

Sheep in winter are prone to foot and mouth disease, streptococcosis, pox, dysentery, colds, colibacillosis and other diseases. In late autumn and early winter, sheep should be vaccinated in time. After an autumn grazing, sheep are likely to be infected with parasitic diseases such as tapeworm and fasciola hepatica. Therefore, the sheep should be timely carried out preventive anthelmintic before winter. The commonly used drugs mainly include trichlorfon, ivermectin, sulfur bis dichlorophenol, pyriquinone, mietaoling, etc. At ordinary times, the house should be cleaned frequently, kept clean and dry, feces should be removed in time, harmless treatment should be carried out through accumulation and fermentation, residues should be screened and treated, and contaminated materials should not be used again. Pay attention to brushing sheep body surface and fur frequently to promote blood circulation and improve body health. Zhao Baolin
