1. Strengthen heat preservation and cold prevention and freezing. Winter climate is cold, the temperature is low, but also often appear strong wind cooling weather, so do a good job of cold insulation, so that vegetables from low temperature damage is the key to winter greenhouse vegetable management. In production, we usually adopt the technique of multi-cover cultivation, that is, covering the ground with plastic film to increase the heat capacity of the soil; covering the straw curtain on the shed film and covering a layer of plastic film on the straw curtain to prevent rain from wetting the straw curtain and effectively increase the indoor temperature.

Second, light irrigation with small water, dark irrigation under film. In winter, not only the temperature is low, but also the ground temperature is low. Excessive watering leads to the decrease of ground temperature and the poor ventilation of soil, which directly affects the activity and absorption function of roots. The use of small water under the film dark irrigation, not only can meet the needs of vegetables for water, but also will not excessively reduce the ground temperature, affecting the soil ventilation situation, so it can effectively solve the conflict between soil water, air and heat, conducive to the growth of vegetables. Drip irrigation works better if conditions permit.

3. Management of overcast weather. When encountering continuous overcast, rain and snow weather, we should also open the grass curtain every day to let the vegetables receive scattered light to maintain the normal activity of chlorophyll. Vegetables can usually be exposed to scattered light for 4 to 6 hours around noon. For vegetables that have entered the flowering and fruiting period, pay attention to harvest the commodity fruits early and remove the rest of the flowers and fruits.

4. Improve indoor lighting conditions. In winter, the natural light is weak, and the light in the greenhouse is often in deficit. Adopting various methods to improve indoor lighting is an important skill in winter management. First of all, a reflective curtain (i.e. an aluminized plastic film) should be hung on the north wall of the greenhouse. Its length is the same as that of the greenhouse. It is advisable to hang 20 cm to 30 cm from the ground below the hanging height. At the same time, it is necessary to eliminate dust and snow on the surface of the shed film as well as water droplets and mist under the film at any time to improve the transmittance of the shed film.
