Meningitis type: most common in suckling piglets and weaned piglets, body temperature 40.5 ℃ ~ 42.5 ℃, no food, constipation, serous or sticky nose, high tread of forelimbs, uncoordinated limbs, molars, back edema, 1-2 days death, long up to 3-5 days.

Septic type: there are often the most acute cases at the beginning of the epidemic, often without any symptoms the first night, and die the next morning. Or stop eating for 1 or 2 meals, dyspnea mucous membrane cyanosis, suddenly fall to the ground, mouth and nose flow red foam liquid, red purple under the abdomen. The acute cases showed elevated body temperature to 41.5 ℃ ~ 42 ℃, loss of appetite or lack of food, constipation, serous nasal juice, eye conjunctival flushing and tears. Polyarthritis occurs in about 1 day, limping, crawling or unable to stand. It is difficult to breathe in the later stage.

Suppurative lymphadenitis: acute abscesses protruding from the skin surface appear in the pharynx, ear, neck, buttocks and back of the diseased pigs. Pathological changes are characterized by suppurative arthritis, suppurative meningitis, septic lesions and serositis, blood flow from natural holes or reddish foam, purple spots or hemorrhagic masses in the lower skin of neck, abdomen and limbs, systemic lymph node hemorrhage, patchy or punctate hemorrhage of mucous membrane and serosa, cerebral vascular congestion or hemorrhage. The synovial surface of the articular capsule is congested, rough, the synovial fluid is turbid, mixed with yellow-white cheese-like lumps, and subcutaneous yellow colloid edema around the joint.
