Eggplant has strong growth potential and has the habit of continuous growth and fruiting. However, with the growth of plants and the increase of branches, the ways of nutrient transport are prolonged, the distribution channels are also increased, and the fruit becomes smaller, resulting in the loss of economic value. Judging from the result law of "four doors, eight winds, and stars all over the sky", after the "four doors," that is, during the "octahedral wind" period, many eggplants became obviously smaller, so eggplant pruning should be implemented from the "octahedral wind" period.

1. Light retraction: for plants with normal growth and only mild weakness, you can first remove the small fruit on the plant, leaving a few fruits with good growth, and then retract at the place where there are obvious strong buds below the "Simandou". And cut off empty branches, weak branches, focus on leaving 3-4 strong buds, culture into fruiting branches, focus on nutrition and supply of fruit.

2. Moderate retraction: for the plants with many and small moderately weak fruits, no strong axillary buds above the eggplant, and strong buds above and below the door eggplant, you can first remove all the fruits on the plant, and then retract from the part above the door eggplant. Leave 1-2 strong buds in the lowest part, so that nutrients can be supplied centrally, so that they can grow and bear fruit early.

3. Extreme retraction: the plants with severe weakness and obvious dehydration and de-fertilization should be retracted from the branches of the two main branches, and the roots should be cut off to promote the strong branches to bear fruit.

In either case, it should be flooded and fertile to promote growth after pruning. After pruning eggplant, in order to prevent the wound from being infected by bacteria, it is necessary to spray chlorothalonil and other agents in time to protect it.
