? Fattening feed

The fattening feed of rabbits should be based on concentrate and supplemented by green feed. If you prepare your own mixed feed, it should contain 15% cellulose, 17% crude protein and 2.5% fat. The most suitable fattening feed is corn, barley, bean dregs, bran, sweet potato, potato and other minerals such as bone meal, salt, charcoal and so on.

Castration and fattening

Castration for fattening male rabbits can improve the fattening effect. It is usually castrated between 8 and 10 weeks after birth. Castration can increase the fattening effect by 15%, while reducing feed consumption.

Restrict movement

During the fattening period, especially in the later fattening period, exercise should be restricted and stocking should not be adopted. it is best to be kept in small cages or wooden boxes that can only accommodate themselves, and placed in a warm, quiet and dark place to promote weight gain and fat storage.

? Feed less and eat more

During the fattening period, rabbits usually show poor appetite due to the decrease of exercise and concentrate feed. In order to promote appetite, it is advisable to feed less and eat more to increase food intake, and at the same time to provide adequate drinking water to regulate the effects of loss of appetite on feed digestion, nutrition absorption and metabolism.

? Careful management

Rabbit fattening period due to lack of exercise and light, poor resistance, easy to get sick, so it is necessary to strengthen the management. Always check and pay attention to environmental hygiene, rabbit houses and cages should be cleaned and disinfected regularly, and rabbits in fattening period should be fully fed, well-fed, rested and in good health.
