Since the first hot air balloon carnival in Taitung County in 2011, it has attracted competition from all over the world to follow suit over the past six years. This year, Taitung will take on an even more arduous task, joining Taiwan's first international hot air balloon challenge in addition to the carnival. From July 2 to July 6, from 05:00 to 07:30 every day, hot air balloon pilots from all over the world gathered at Luye Gaotai, 30 hot air balloons and pilots to challenge themselves through long-term training in flight skills. a tense and exciting competition over Taitung. Including the most popular events such as "accurate throw" and "Fly In", they will be reproduced in Luye Gaotai. At that time, fans from all over the country are welcome to gather in Luye to cheer for Taiwan athletes, and a record 30 hot air balloons can be seen flying over Taitung.

The 2015 hot air balloon carnival attracted more than 700000 hot air fans to participate in the event. In order to uphold the belief that it will bring new emotion to domestic fans every year, in addition to the Hot Air Balloon Challenge and 30 balls launched at the same time this year, the largest 15 styling balls in history were invited to Taiwan. Including aquariums, exotic birds, Noah's ark and "High Kitty" from the United States, Thai fox balls, Dutch rooster balls, Japanese octopus balls and carp balls, etc., to turn the sky over Luye high platform into the largest "animal carnival" in history! In addition, British girls and boys who came to Taiwan alone in 2014 and 2015 will also gather for the first time this year to come to Taitung to enjoy the beauty of Huadong Longitudinal Valley.
