The improved cattle have the characteristics of large size, fast weight gain and high meat production rate. However, although the improved cattle have the heredity of rapid growth and development, if the feeding conditions can not keep up, the transmissibility obtained can not become dominant, or even without the characteristics of rough feeding tolerance and strong adaptability of local cattle, resulting in the waste of previous efforts in the improvement work. Create a good environment and strengthen the hygienic management of the cowshed. The barn should keep warm in winter and cool in summer, keep it at 10 ℃ ~ 15 ℃ in winter and 20 ℃ ~ 25 ℃ in summer. It should be clean and sunny.

Exercise every day. Exercise can promote blood circulation, increase appetite and accelerate growth and development. The calves within one month exercised for 10-15 minutes every day, and the calves for more than one month exercised for 1-1.5 hours every day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon.

Often brush the animal carcass and do a good job in the sanitation inside and outside the house.

Early supplement of plant feed. The calves can replenish the forage grass after growing for 7 days. Feed should be diversified, and concentrate, succulent feed and silage should be matched properly. Concentrate should be appropriate, and gradually increase the feed as the calves grow older and gain weight. At the same time, minerals, vitamins and salt are supplemented to ensure the growth and development of young animals. In addition, we should also give adequate drinking water, calves lack of drinking water, hair scorched, prone to gastrointestinal diseases. But drink too much, easy to appear water poisoning, then red urine.

Early weaning. Early weaning of calves can save a lot of fresh milk, reduce calf breeding costs and save labor. Feeding forage early can promote the development of digestive organs, improve the quality of calves, promote the development of rumen, reduce the occurrence of digestive tract diseases and improve the survival rate of calves. The weaning period of calves is 2 ~ 3 months old. The key to the success of early weaning is to provide nutritious full-price milk substitute for calves.
