Breeding ram in the breeding period of the feeding and management requirements are relatively fine, must maintain a good health, that is, middle and upper class, strong physique, energetic, exuberant libido, strong breeding ability, good semen quality.

Increase nutrition

During the breeding period, breeding rams should be fed with mixed concentrate and hay rich in crude protein, vitamins and minerals, and the roughages suitable for breeding rams include alfalfa hay, clover hay and green oat hay. Concentrate is oats, barley, corn, sorghum, peas, black beans, bean cake is better, succulent feed carrots, feed beets and so on. Generally, 1 kg ~ 1.5 kg of mixed concentrate is fed daily, and hay is eaten at will (in winter), 10 grams of bone meal and 15 ~ 20 grams of salt; when the number of semen collection is more, 1 ~ 2 eggs are added.

Strengthen grazing and sports

At the same time of supplementary feeding, grazing should be strengthened and exercise should be increased appropriately in order to enhance the physique of rams and improve sperm motility. Grazing and sports should be grouped separately, and graze as far away from the ewe as possible.

Strengthen management?

Breeding season, breeding ram sexual desire, impatient temperament, in semen collection should pay attention to safety, grazing or sports should be followed to prevent breeding rams mixed with ewes for illegal mating. The breeding ram enclosure should be spacious and strong, keep it clean, dry, and disinfect regularly.
