High quality and high yield of eggplant by cutting leaves

Eggplant is a vegetable with strong growth potential. Under the condition of suitable sunlight, over-dense planting and sufficient nitrogen fertilizer, it is easy to lead to excessive growth of eggplant, falling flowers and fruits, poor fruit color, and reducing the quality and yield of eggplant. 1. Look at variety leaf cutting: varieties with strong branching ability and luxuriant branches and leaves, such as Fengyan No. 1, six-leaf eggplant, nine-leaf eggplant and other varieties can be cut more. Varieties with poor branching ability and non-luxuriant branches and leaves, such as Beijing small round eggplant and Tianjin Niuxin eggplant, should cut less leaves or not.

two。 Look at the seedling potential leaf cutting: planting is too dense, plant growth is luxuriant, branches and leaves seriously shaded can be cut more, to keep the leaves sparse and uniform, in order to facilitate ventilation and light transmission. On the contrary, those with sparse cultivation, normal or deviated plant growth, good ventilation and light transmission can be cut less or not.

3. Look at the leaf cutting: cut the eggplant leaves, only cut the lower rimmed leaves, retain the middle and upper leaves; cut off the disease and insect leaves, retain the normal growing leaves; cut off the yellow leaves, rotten leaves, and retain the strong green leaves.

4. Look at the weather leaf cutting: dry weather and less rain, little or no leaf cutting. In rainy areas and rainy seasons, more leaves should be cut.

5. Look at fertilizer leaf cutting: if the soil is fertile, the amount of fertilizer is large and more nitrogen fertilizer is applied, the leaf should be cut more; if the soil is barren, the amount of fertilizer is insufficient and most of them are organic fertilizer or phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, the leaf should be cut less.
