Potato seed potato slicing can make full use of each bud hole, save seed potato and reduce production cost. Especially before sowing, if the seed potato does not pass dormancy or only the terminal bud germinates, and when the lateral bud has not yet germinated, cutting is beneficial to break the dormancy and promote the bud eye of seed potato to germinate and sprout as soon as possible.

There are also many deficiencies in the production of seed potato. If the sowing conditions are poor, such as the soil is too dry or wet, the soil temperature is too low or too high, or the resistance of the seed potato itself is poor, the sliced seed potato is easy to rot or dry, resulting in irregular emergence and serious lack of seedlings in the field, resulting in a decrease in yield. In addition, if the cutter is not disinfected when cutting the seed potato, it will cause many virus and bacterial diseases to spread among the seed potato through the cutter. If the wound can not heal quickly, the cut is easy to be infected with bacteria and cause rot. Especially when sowing high temperature and high humidity, it is easy to cause a large number of rotten seeds, resulting in serious lack of seedlings in the field and even reduced yield. Therefore, when sowing, we should make a reasonable choice according to the soil moisture and weather conditions of the year.
