Ecological free-range chickens can move and feed freely, which brings some difficulties to feeding and management. Therefore, ecological stocking chickens should be trained from an early age to develop better conditions for radiation in order to facilitate management. Training refers to giving special instructions or signals in a specific environment to make chickens gradually form conditioned reflexes or produce habitual behavior.

The training of feeding and drinking water: the training of feeding and drinking water should begin at the time of rearing. Generally take a special sound as the signal, this sound should be soft and loud, do not use the sound of explosion or imitate the cry of wild animals, the duration can be long or short. Whistling and tapping metal objects are often used in production. Take feeding as an example, before training, the chicken should be hungry, and then, while giving the signal (such as whistling), the feeding should be made visible to the chicken as far as possible, so as to produce both auditory and visual sensation and accelerate the formation of conditioned reflex. The same signal is repeated every time, and the conditioned reflex can be established in about 3 days.

Grazing and training: transfer the chicks to the henhouse at one time in the afternoon or evening before stocking, and don't release the chickens immediately after dawn on the second morning, but let the chickens stay in the henhouse for a long time in order to be familiar with the new environment. Wait until after 9 o'clock in the morning to release the feed. The feed trough is placed 1-5 meters away from the chicken house, allowing the chickens to find food freely. In the first few days, the stocking time should be short every day, and then increase the stocking time day by day, and set up a fence to limit the scope of activities, and then constantly expand the stocking area.

Training before laying: chickens like to lay eggs in dim light, better concealment, and quieter places, so that there will be sense of security, and the eggs will be laid more smoothly. Hens often show unease and look for a suitable place to lay their eggs before laying their first eggs. When chickens see that other chickens have built nests or have eggs in the laying box, they will have a sense of identity, thinking that this nest is suitable for laying eggs, and it is easy to regard it as their own nest and lay eggs in it. The laying of chickens has the nature of nesting. In general, where the first egg is laid is still laid in this place. If this place is occupied by other chickens, they would rather wait at the door of the nest rather than enter the empty nest next to it. In the untimely manner, several chickens are often crowded into a nest box to lay eggs at the same time, although they do not care about being rejected and expelled by laying hens. Therefore, pre-production training is extremely important. About a week before the start of laying, the egg box should be placed so that the chicken is familiar with the environment in the egg box. The egg box should be placed or darkened by backlight to keep the egg box quiet and undisturbed. The egg box should be adequate, generally according to 5 hens in one egg nest. Clean and dry bedding should be laid in the egg box.
