First, reduce energy feed. As the temperature rises gradually in spring, if you continue to feed high-energy feed during the overwintering period, it will increase the weight of laying hens, thus affecting the laying rate. The scientific approach is to reduce the proportion of cereal feeds such as corn in the diet.

Second, improve the level of protein. The hen consumes more protein during the laying period, and its consumption is related to the laying rate of the hen, so the protein raw material in the feed should be increased according to the increase of the laying rate. The method is to properly add high-quality fish meal and soybean cake to the diet and add as little miscellaneous meal as possible when the cost permits.

Third, increase the mineral content. The requirement of calcium for laying hens increases, such as lack of calcium in feed, the quality of eggshells will be affected, thus increasing damaged eggs, seriously causing chickens to lay soft-shell eggs and non-shell eggs. Phosphorus deficiency and calcium deficiency can also cause discomfort in laying hens, such as feather pecking, anal pecking, egg pecking and other pica. Therefore, once it is found that laying hens have indigestion, loss of appetite, weight loss and other phenomena, we should find out the reasons and increase the content of mineral additives in the diet accordingly.

Fourth, supplement vitamins. Especially vitamin D, when there is a long-term deficiency in the diet, the egg production of laying hens decreases, the eggshell becomes softer and thinner, and the absorption of calcium will be seriously affected. When the chicken egg production increases, its vitamin consumption also increases, so it is appropriate to feed some green feed, while increasing the amount of multivitamin in the feed.
