South Taiwan Interdisciplinary Science and Technology Innovation Center signs up

In order to assist the sustainable development of agriculture in southern Taiwan, the Pingtung County Government, the Kaohsiung Municipal Government, the Industrial and technological Research Institute, and Pingtung University of Science and Technology jointly established the "South Taiwan Interdisciplinary Science and Technology Innovation Center". The signing and unveiling ceremony was held at the Agricultural College of Pingtung University of Science and Technology on the morning of the 18th. Pan Mengan, head of Pingtung County, Chen Ju, mayor of Kaohsiung, Liu Junting, vice president of the Institute of Technology, Xie Baoquan, vice president of Pingtung University of Science and Technology, and Wu Mingchang, dean of the College of Agriculture, were all present. ITRI will combine Pingtung County Government and Kaohsiung Municipal Government to inject innovative science and technology into the agricultural industry through cross-school, cross-county, cross-field and industrial applications, so as to enhance the competitiveness of the agricultural industry.

This cooperation will focus on the combination of agriculture and science and technology, and through industry-government-university cooperation to make agricultural production ecological, environmentally friendly, and technological. Through the technical expertise of the ITRI, we will try to apply the cryogenic plasma technology, which is highly mature in industrial technology, to the production and management of fruits and vegetables to develop fine agriculture.

With regard to this cross-disciplinary cooperation, Pan Mengan, mayor of Pingtung County, first expressed his gratitude to the ITRI for its guidance, as well as the support of Mayor Chen Ju and Pingshan University of Science and Technology. With this southward leap and the needle and thread of Dean Wu of the Agricultural College of Pingtung University of Science and Technology, it laid the foundation for Pingtung science and technology agriculture, and then applied it to medical, industrial and other related industries, leading southern Taiwan to the next promotion.

Liu Junting, vice president of the Industrial Research Institute, further pointed out that Pingtung University of Science and Technology was selected as the second research base to use room temperature plasma technology to assist in plant sterilization and growth promotion, food processing and equipment technology, and to develop fine agriculture. Now, with the assistance of Wu Mingchang, dean of the Agricultural College of Pingtung University of Science and Technology, atmospheric plasma will certainly have concrete and in-depth results to lead the successful transformation of China's agriculture.
