When the pigeon is about 6 months old, the pigeon is mature and can be paired for production. The pigeon has 12 secondary wing feathers, which can be used to identify the age of the adult pigeon. The deputy main wing feather changes one from the inside to the outside every year, and the changed feathers appear dark and clean.

Second, it is identified according to the size and presence of the bursa on the pigeon's lumen. The pigeon's supraluminal sac is located above the cloacal cavity. The supraluminal bursa of the child pigeon is larger and becomes smaller when it is an adult. After a few years, the supraluminal sac becomes very small, or only a few traces are left.

Third, it is identified according to the shape of the pigeon's beak and the scab at the corners of the mouth. The older the age, the blunter and smoother the end of the beak. The end of the suckling pigeon's beak is sharp, soft and slender; the child pigeon's beak is thick and hard; the adult pigeon's beak is thicker and shorter, and the end is hard and slippery.
