Closed chicken coop is also called fully enclosed windowless chicken coop. The roof of this kind of chicken house is well insulated from the four walls; there are no windows on all sides, and the environment in the house is mainly adjusted by manual or instrument control, resulting in the "artificial climate" in the chicken house. That is, artificial ventilation and lighting are used to control the temperature, humidity and air composition in the house by changing the amount of ventilation.

Advantages: the environment of the chicken house is stable and not easy to be affected by natural environmental conditions; the production is stable and safe; through manual control of operation technology, it is helpful to control the growth and development of chickens, sexual maturity and stimulate the laying cycle, and facilitate the monitoring of the quality and quantity of chickens. Such as restrictions on feeding, forced molting and other measures.

Disadvantages: construction standards and ancillary equipment requirements are higher, the investment is relatively large, chickens are completely divorced from any conditions of natural breeding. It completely depends on the artificial creation of the environment and conditions suitable for the growth and production of chickens, so the full price of feed is required. This method is applicable to the northern region.
