Postpartum sows is a very important period, we usually have to do the following aspects of management:

First, to strengthen postpartum care, pay attention to sows breathing, body temperature, mental status, behavior changes, to prevent accidents.

Second, postpartum sows should be injected with oxytocin 4-6 ml to speed up the excretion of placenta.

Third, postpartum sows are fed some skin soup, eggs and so on within 2-3 days.

Fourth, in the process of sow delivery, midwifery and postpartum, superficial reproductive tract injury and microbial infection often occur, or because the mother can not adapt to the drastic changes of delivery, resulting in postpartum physiological process disorder, which is prone to a variety of postpartum diseases. Therefore, 2-4 doses of penicillin should be injected intramuscularly in postpartum sows within 2-3 days to prevent reproductive tract infection, and sows with dystocia or obvious symptoms of birth canal injury should be treated with antibiotics continuously.
