Antidiarrheal drugs are a class of drugs that stop diarrhea. Diarrhea is a symptom or disease of many diseases. In a certain sense, diarrhea is the performance of the body's protective defense function, which can expel toxins from the body, but diarrhea affects the absorption of nutrients, especially prolonged and severe diarrhea leads to dehydration and electrolyte disorders such as potassium, sodium and chlorine, even acidosis. Treatment, should be based on the cause and condition, combined with the characteristics of each drug action, take comprehensive measures, that is, treatment and symptomatic treatment simultaneously. Diarrhea is caused by pathogenic microorganisms, so it is often combined with anti-microbial drugs, anti-inflammatory drugs and zymotechnics.

According to the characteristics of pharmacological action, antidiarrheal drugs can be divided into three categories:

1. 2. Adsorptive antidiarrheal drugs, such as medicinal charcoal and kaolin, can adsorb water, gas, bacteria, viruses, toxins and poisons through surface adsorption to reduce damage to intestinal mucosa.
