In poultry production, it is common to give injections to poultry, but many farmers do not understand the nature of the drugs, and the injection site is not selected correctly, and the method is also wrong, resulting in the outflow of the liquid after injection into the body, inflammation and swelling of the injection site, sometimes causing poultry death, paralysis and so on, bringing unnecessary economic losses to the farm. Therefore, the author suggests that we must pay attention to the methods of injecting poultry.

An injection in the leg, not the inside. Because the main blood vessels and nerves on the legs of birds are on the inside, injections here are easy to cause vascular and nerve damage, resulting in needle eye bleeding, cripple, paralysis and so on.

Don't use thick needles for hypodermic injections. Thick needle injection because of small depth, large needle eye, the potion is easy to flow out after injection, and easy to inflame and bleed. Therefore, fine needles (human needles) should be used for subcutaneous injection, especially for chickens, and slightly thicker needles can be used for oil injection.

An injection in the chest cannot be pierced vertically. When giving injections to young birds and chicks, because of their thin muscles, vertical needling is easy to penetrate the chest, injecting the liquid into the chest, causing death. Therefore, should follow the direction of the sternum, next to the sternum, the needle core should not be drawn back (indicating that the needle is in the muscle), and then push the needle to inject the solution.

Do not inject the liquid at one o'clock when there is too much liquid. Because the muscles of poultry are thinner than those of pigs and cattle, it is easy to cause local muscle damage and is not conducive to the rapid absorption of drugs, so the solution should be injected into the muscles at multiple points.

Don't inject a strong irritant liquid into the leg. The main active organ of poultry is the leg. Some drugs have strong irritation and slow absorption, such as penicillin and oil seedlings. These drugs enter the leg muscles, causing long-term pain in the legs and inconvenience for walking, affecting diet and growth. So you should choose a place with a lot of wings or chest muscles to get an injection.

Grasp the strength when catching birds. Catching birds during injections should be firm and not injure them. If the strength is too large, it is easy to cause needle eye enlargement, tearing, bleeding or outflow of medicine, affecting the efficacy, and seriously piercing into the heart and lung and other important parts, resulting in internal bleeding and death.
