Modern aquaculture management emphasizes the use of all-in-all-out feeding and management. After a feeding cycle, there are varying degrees of pathogen pollution in livestock houses. In order to create a clean and hygienic environment for the next feeding cycle, thorough disinfection must be carried out. The process is as follows:

Because different pathogens have different sensitivity to different disinfectants, it is recommended to use different disinfectants for 2 or 3 times of disinfection. Alkaline disinfectant can be used for the first disinfection, 1%-2% hot sodium hydroxide can be sprayed, and 10% lime milk can be used to paint walls, fences and floors; the second disinfection can be sprayed with phenols, surfactants or oxidants (such as peracetic acid). In order to improve the disinfection effect, the spray pressure should be 3.4~67.5kgf/cm2, and the dosage of the dilution solution should be 0.25-0.4L for 1m2. During spray disinfection, the order of disinfection should be followed by the front part of the barn, the top wall and then the ground, and the third disinfection could be fumigated with formalin. In the oxidation method, formalin 42ml/m3 and potassium permanganate 21g/m3 are mixed to produce high heat evaporation. In the heating method, formalin 25ml/m3 is used, the same amount of water is added and heated together to evaporate. There should be an interval between each disinfection. After the last disinfection, it should be washed and dried, and then disinfected next time.

Disinfectants for disinfection of livestock and poultry should have the characteristics of broad spectrum, high efficiency, low toxicity, low corrosiveness and strong adhesion. With poultry disinfection, attention should be paid to the temperature and heat preservation measures of diluting water in high temperature brooding and cold winter seasons, and the disinfectants should be rotated every month. 2 days before and after inoculation of attenuated vaccine, spray disinfection should be stopped within 5 days.
