Tortoise meat is extremely delicious, favored by consumers, and domestic and foreign markets are in short supply. In order to maintain the special flavor and high economic value of turtles, field snails, earthworms and turtles with fast reproduction and easy provenance can be cultured in the same pond. The basic points of the method are as follows:

In the breeding pond, it is generally supplemented by a layer of silt 30 centimeters thick at the bottom of the pond, some algae and duckweed are raised on the surface of the pond, and water lotus is planted around the pond to facilitate the consumption and shade of turtles and snails.

The water color should be light green with transparency of more than 30 cm. If the transparency is low, the water should be changed in time. The inlet and outlet of the aquaculture pond is lower than that of the conventional fish pond to facilitate the exchange of water. At the inlet and outlet, it must be stopped with barbed wire or plastic net to prevent the tortoise snail from escaping.

The field snail has a strong ability to reproduce. Generally, a field snail produces an average of 120-150 young snails a year, and 10 field snails can be picked and eaten freely by a tortoise. In the case of 5 adult turtles per square meter in the pond, it is better to keep the snail below 20 per square meter. Of course, you also need to feed some other feed, and raising earthworms is a good way to replenish the feed.

Breeding earthworms can use boxes, buckets, pots, plates, shallow ground and ground stacking materials, etc. Invest 4000 earthworms per square meter and feed them every 15-20 days. The feed is rotten cattle, pig, chicken manure, crop straw, leaves, weeds and appropriate amount of rotten flowers and fruits, banana peel, fruit peel, leaves and so on. The reproduction of earthworms in four to six months is 10 times that of themselves, and 4000 can grow to 40000. Ten thousand adult worms can eat 4 kilograms of feed every day. Raising one square meter of earthworms can feed five turtles in one square meter of water.
