The principle of feeding and management of laying hens during the first laying period: do all the basic immunity of laying hens before laying, and do a good job of deworming at the same time, make full preparations for keeping good body condition, high antibody level and body resistance, and improving feed conversion rate during the laying period; do a good job in feed nutrition adjustment and light management to meet the needs of laying hens production.

1. Feed nutrition should be transferred from breeding feed to laying feed, but the principle of gradual progress should be adhered to and the scientific transition from breeding period to laying period should be done well. The methods were as follows: the breeding diet of 2max 3 + the laying period diet of 1max 3 was fed for two days, the breeding diet of 1max 2 + the laying period diet of 1max 2 was fed for another two days, and the breeding diet of 1max 3 + the laying period diet of 2max 3 was fed for another two days, and then changed to the egg laying period diet, and the whole transition period was completed in about one week. In the future, the increase of feed nutrition should gradually increase with the increase of the laying rate, and do not increase too much. Excessive increase in protein will increase the probability of dystocia and prolapse of the anus due to the size of the egg, and if it is not detected in time, it will die of severe anal pecking. The addition of shell or stone powder is too fierce and excessive for laying hens to absorb, and can only be balanced by increasing drinking water and strengthening body circulation to promote the excretion of excess minerals, which not only increases the burden of liver and kidney function, but also often leads to diarrhea. Therefore, the increase of soybean meal and shell should be adjusted by 1% and 2% at a time.

two。 2% shell or stone powder can be added to the feed two weeks before production to promote calcium and phosphorus reserves.

3. Attention should be paid to the balanced supply of feed diets. Special consideration should be given to the details such as the ratio of energy to protein, the ratio of calcium to phosphorus, the cooperation between calcium and sodium, as well as the coordination and balance of various essential amino acids. Usually, 17:1 is the best ratio of energy to protein for laying hens.

4. Start production at the right time. The very important evaluation basis of laying hens is: body weight and shank length (high), too low weight or shank length (high) is not enough to start laying, which can easily lead to small egg body, short peak duration and low total egg production. Serious dystocia will cause unnecessary losses. Therefore, the timing of the start of production should be based on the requirements of the breed, when the standard of body weight and shank length (high) is reached, and the sexual maturity and physical maturity of the chickens are confirmed.

5. Replenishment and refueling must be carried out at the same time. After reaching the standard of initial body weight and shank length (high) of the breed, the laying hens can be transferred to the management of the laying period. In the first week, the light was replenished for 0.5 hours to 1 hour, and then increased by 0.5 hours to 1 hour per week, until the sunshine was kept constant for 16 hours.
