Key points of sowing and seedling raising techniques of asparagus

1 soaking seeds to accelerate germination

Asparagus seeds have a thick shell and poor water absorption, so they need to soak and sprout before sowing. The seeds can be soaked with 40% asparagus green 700 times solution or 50% carbendazim 700 times solution. Generally soak the seeds for two to three days and change the water once a day. Rinse the soaked seeds with clean water, moisturize and germinate at 25-30 ℃. When 10% of the seeds are white, they can be sown.

2 sowing and raising seedlings

The Yangtze River basin can be sowed three times a year: from early April to early May in spring, from mid-May to early July in summer, and from mid-August in autumn. If there are protected facilities, the seeds can also be sowed after mid-September.

Choose well drained, loose and fertile sandy loam as seedbed. A week before sowing, 350kg of rotten organic fertilizer, 25kg of compound fertilizer and 1000 kg of asparagus green liquid were applied to each mu of seedbed, which was turned deep into the soil and made into a seedbed 150cm wide and 20cm high.

When sowing, you can use either on-demand or strip sowing. When sowing, the row spacing is 10 cm, and the plant spacing is 10 cm. Sow one seed in each hole. Sprinkle with crushed soil and compact it slightly.

If you use strip sowing, you need to open a sowing ditch every 15-20 cm along the seedbed, with a depth of 2-3 cm, sow a seed every 10 cm or so, and cover it with a layer of loose soil or charred ash 1 cm thick. After sowing, spray 40% asparagus green 700 times on the seedbed to sterilize and disinfect.

When raising seedlings in spring, the temperature is relatively low, so it is necessary to build plastic greenhouse or small arch shed to keep warm.

Under the condition of about 20 ℃, the seedlings broke out after 3 weeks. It is necessary to strengthen management after emergence, and when using facilities to raise seedlings, when the emergence rate reaches more than 70%, it is necessary to ventilate and breathe in time, especially at noon on a sunny day to uncover the film to cool down, strengthen the light, and exercise strong seedlings. After the seedling height is 10 cm, weed and top dressing should be done in time. Spray 40% asparagus green 600 times liquid every 10-15 days to strengthen seedlings and prevent disease. When the height of the seedling reaches 20-25 cm, it can be ready for planting.
