In order to ensure the high and stable yield of pear trees in the second year, fruit growers should strengthen management, accumulate nutrition, enhance tree potential and cultivate strong trees in autumn, so as to lay the foundation for the production of high-quality pear fruit in the following year.

One is to apply base fertilizer in autumn. The application time is from August to September, less nitrogen fertilizer and more potassium fertilizer. The method is to combine the ploughing and deep ploughing of the whole garden and apply organic fertilizer mainly farm manure, applying 50-100 kg per plant, and then applying about 2 kg of fruit tree compound fertilizer and 2-3 taels of borax. Water and cover the soil in time after application.

The second is to pull branches and sparse branches. Last year's freezing injury, the yield of pear trees is generally low this year, resulting in excessive vegetative growth, so tree shape should be shaped by pulling branches and thinning branches in autumn. Mainly remove long branches, overdense erect branches and cross branches, and remove thin and weak branches, disease and insect branches and root branches. The position and angle of the branches should be reasonable.

The third is to prevent "Xiaoyangchun". Pear trees are easily affected by adverse climate and early defoliation is prone to the phenomenon of "October Xiaoyangchun", which causes flowering and affects the fruit of the following year. The main measures are to pay attention to the control of pear scab, pear planthopper, pear stink bugs and other diseases and insect pests from August to September, and to pay attention to irrigation during the drought period to prevent the soil from being too dry.
