The main purpose of feeding ewes in house is to meet the nutrition of ewes, save feed to the maximum extent and reduce the input cost of feed to the lowest through the scientific collocation of many kinds of feed. Taking the adult ewe with a body weight of 60 kg as an example, this paper introduces the feed allocation technology of ewe under suitable conditions.

? 1 determine the feeding standard

As there is no unified feeding standard for ewes in China, the nutritional requirement of ewes established by the United States (NRC) is taken as the feeding standard here. Due to the different nutritional requirements of ewes during pregnancy and lactation, ewes are divided into four different periods in one year in the United States (NRC): the first stage is the non-lactation period or 15 weeks before pregnancy; the second stage is the last 6 weeks of pregnancy or the last 8 weeks of lactation lambs; the third stage is 8 weeks before lactation or the last 8 weeks of lactation lambs; the fourth stage is 8 weeks before lactation.

2 choose feed

In order to achieve a variety of feed combinations, coarse fodder is selected from Leymus chinensis, alfalfa hay, corn straw and rice straw, which is intended to be matched according to the ratio of 2 to 1 and 5 to 2; the concentrate is mainly composed of corn, wheat bran and soybean meal (or soybean cake).

Due to the different requirements for digestible protein at different stages, the types of concentrate are also different. In the first and second stages, due to the low demand for protein, corn and wheat bran were selected and mixed according to the proportion of 6:4.

There was a large demand for protein in the third and fourth stages. Corn, wheat bran and soybean meal (or soybean cake) were selected and mixed according to the ratio of 6: 3:1.

? 3 feed formula and feed intake of ewes at each stage

The main results are as follows: (1) the formula of coarse concentrate feed in the first stage.

Roughage (daily feed rate 0.92kg) formula: Leymus chinensis 20%, alfalfa hay 10%, corn straw 50%, rice straw 20%; concentrate feed (daily feed 0.545 kg) formula: corn 68.81%, wheat bran 28.44%, calcium hydrogen phosphate 2.2%, salt 0.55%.

(2) the formula of coarse concentrate feed in the second stage.

Roughage (daily feed amount 1.52kg) formula: Leymus chinensis 20%, alfalfa hay 10%, corn straw 50%, rice straw 20%; concentrate (daily feed amount is 0.661 kg) formula: corn 46.29%, wheat bran 50.38%, calcium hydrogen phosphate 2.87%, salt 0.46%.

Ewes using this formula lack 6.13 mg of carotene per day, and 0.2 kg of carrots can meet their needs. Vitamin An and vitamin D can be supplemented with vitamin A-D mixture and added according to the product description.

(3) the formula of coarse concentrate feed in the third stage.

Roughage (daily feed 1.02 kg) formula: Leymus chinensis 20%, alfalfa hay 10%, corn straw 50%, rice straw 20%; concentrate (daily feed 1. 58 kg) formula: corn 65.54%, wheat bran 29.15%, soybean meal 2.41%, calcium hydrogen phosphate 2.41%, salt 0.49%.

(4) the formula of coarse concentrate feed in the fourth stage.

Roughage (daily feed 1.19kg) formula: Leymus chinensis 20%, alfalfa hay 10%, corn straw 50%, rice straw 20%; concentrate (daily feed 1.77 kg) formula: corn 61. 16%, wheat bran 29.23%, soybean meal 6. 97%, calcium hydrogen phosphate 2.15%, salt 0.49%.
