This period is called the maximum efficiency period of crop nutrition.

The maximum efficiency period of crop nutrition is generally in the middle of crop growth, during this period, crops grow fast and have the strongest ability to absorb nutrients. Timely topdressing is used to meet the maximum nutrient needs of crops, and its yield-increasing efficiency is very significant.

In the cultivation of vegetable crops, they should be divided into two categories according to the law of fertilizer demand of different vegetable crops; one is that the absorption of mineral nutrients increases with the growth of vegetable crops, such as Solanaceae, melons and legumes, which need the most fertilizer during fruit formation. About 50% of the nutrients absorbed are used in fruits. The other type is mainly root vegetables and potatoes and other vegetables, the upper part of the local vigorous growth period is the period to absorb the most nutrients.
