Heatstroke is the general name of solar radiation disease and heat radiation disease. In the hot season, due to improper feeding and management, the pigsty has no heat prevention equipment, and the pig is exposed to sunlight, which leads to serious dysfunction of the central nervous system, which leads to the occurrence of solar radiation disease; or because the pigsty is narrow and poorly ventilated, the temperature in the pen is too high and is in a humid and muggy environment for a long time, the heat generated by the pig body increases and the heat dissipation decreases, which leads to serious functional disorders of the central nervous system. If diseased pigs are not treated quickly and effectively, they can cause systemic convulsions, and even cause permanent brain damage, kidney failure and death. Therefore, to do a good job in the prevention and control of heatstroke is an important link to ensure the safety of pigs in summer and improve the economic benefits of raising pigs in summer.

At present, it is the height of summer, and the heat is unbearable, so we can take some effective measures to relieve the heat and cool down.

1. Do a good job of cleaning and hygiene to ensure the ventilation of the barracks. The pigsty should be cleaned twice a day and washed once. Because pig manure itself is a heat source in summer, it should be cleaned thoroughly. The summer climate is muggy, so the doors and windows of the pigsty should be completely open to facilitate the ventilation and heat dissipation of pigs. Qualified large-scale farmers can purchase exhaust facilities, which is more conducive to heat prevention and cooling of pigs.

2. Rinse with cold water and spray to cool down. For the pig house with brick-concrete structure and cement floor, on the premise of cleaning and hygiene, the sanitary wall (1 meter high) and the ground of the pig house are washed with cold water at 1: 00 noon and 5: 00 pm every day. For pigs weighing more than 75 kg, cold water spray can be used to cool down, so that the fat pigs can spend the summer safely.

3. Build an Arbor and plant trees in an enclosure. Build an Arbor above the pig venue, or plant trees in the venue to avoid direct sunlight and help pigs to stay out of the shade.

4. Ensure adequate drinking water. Ensure adequate drinking water every day, preferably fresh and cool well water, plus the right amount of salt, 5-6 times.
