Due to the high temperature and heavy rain, the summer management of leek should pay attention to weeding, drainage and waterlogging, strengthen fertilizer and water management and pest control, and reduce the number of harvests to promote the exuberant growth of leek.

No cutting. The high temperature in summer leads to less nutrient accumulation and high consumption, which affects the plant growth, and the leaf tissue fiber increases, the texture is rough, and the growth weakens. Harvesting should be stopped from late June to early August to facilitate root maintenance. It can be harvested twice from August to September, and the harvest will stop after late September. For the last harvest, the stubble should be slightly higher. Due to the favorable factors such as cutting-free, sufficient fertilizer and water, vigorous growth and other favorable factors, leek often lodge in summer. After lodging, it is easy to rot, and cause epidemic disease, resulting in death. The measures to prevent lodging are: not excessive nitrogen fertilizer; do not over-watering; frequently prevent waterlogging in case of heavy rain; leek leaves should be cut short when lodging may occur if the leaves are too long.

Weed. High temperature in summer, rainy in autumn, weed breeding, affecting the growth of leek, it should be pulled out in time.

Pick bolts. As the real-time flowering and knot of leek will consume a lot of nutrients, affecting plant growth, tillering and nutrient accumulation, thus affecting the annual yield in the coming year. Therefore, in addition to the seed field, the leek bolts should be removed in time to cultivate high-yield plants.

Control Fusarium wilt. High temperature in summer and autumn, or hot sun exposure after rain, is prone to Fusarium wilt. The symptoms are water-scalded disease spots near the ground, and in serious cases, the whole plant dies. In management, attention should be paid to drainage and waterlogging prevention and removal of yellow leaves to maintain good ventilation between rows and reduce the harm of diseases. It can also be irrigated with 50% carbendazim 500 times solution to prevent the disease.

Control leek maggots. The occurrence of leek maggots is more serious in summer, which can be slowly flowed into the ditch with 50% phoxim 800 times liquid combined with watering. Phoxim granules can also be applied when the leek is fertilized and prepared, or 1000 kg of water can be irrigated to the root with 20% "leek maggot net" 0.75 kg / mu during the peak period of leek maggot larvae.
