Many rural farmers are used to adding concentrate feed during the sick period of piglets, but they do not realize that many feed and feed additives can antagonize the drugs for the prevention and treatment of piglet disease, reducing the efficacy of the drugs, and even aggravating the disease.

Avoid feeding sorghum: sorghum contains more tannic acid, has antidiarrheal effect, such as in piglets poisoning or constipation with diarrhea drugs, should immediately stop feeding sorghum.

Avoid feeding mung beans: mung beans can cure all kinds of medicine, no matter what medicine piglets take, it should be forbidden to feed mung beans.

Avoid feeding bran: wheat bran is high phosphorus and low calcium feed, its phosphorus content is more than 3.5 times of calcium content, in the treatment of rickets, osteomalacia, urolithiasis and other diseases, should stop feeding bran. Excessive use of phosphorus can reduce the absorption of iron. When using drugs such as ferrous sulfate to treat pig anaemia, we should stop feeding wheat bran.

Avoid feeding blood meal: blood meal is an animal protein feed containing more protein. Polygonum multiflorum, cooked land, Pinellia ternata, raw land, psoralen and other commonly used Chinese herbal medicine should not be used with blood powder to avoid increasing side effects.

Avoid feeding bone meal: bone meal contains more minerals, which can reduce the curative effect of oxytetracycline and tetracycline. When using these two kinds of antibiotics to treat infectious diseases, bone meal feeding should be prohibited.

Avoid feeding salt: during the use of oral streptomycin bromide preparation or the treatment of nephritis, the feeding of salt should be limited or stopped.
