Strengthen the feeding of breeding pigeons

Pigeons should be fed small grains of feed to facilitate digestion, such as mung beans, brown rice, small corn, wheat, sesame, rapeseed and so on. Feed should be clean and without mildew, increase the feeding times of breeding pigeons and prolong the feeding time of each time, so that the parent pigeons have sufficient feeding time and feeding time.

Strengthen the nursing of squab

To make the squab grow evenly, a pair of squab is big and small, and the smaller squab should be fed with some health sand to strengthen the absorptive capacity of the stomach. Or temporarily isolate the big pigeon in time, so that the weak one can get more feeding. The habitat of two squab can also be changed. After a few days, there is no need for special care when the two pigeons are of similar weight.

Strengthen the adjustment of single pigeon

If a pair of squab dies or only hatches one pigeon, the squab can be placed in another litter of the same or similar age. This process should be carried out at night to prevent pecking injuries. Do not disturb the breeding pigeon within 3 days after it comes out of the shell, so as to prevent the squab from trampling to death and do not let the feces pollute the squab.

Prevent indigestion of squab

In the squab stage, it can be divided into three periods according to the feeding composition of the parent pigeon. 0-4-day-old pigeons were fed entirely by their parents; at 5-8 days old, part of the softened and fermented feed was contained in the pigeon feed; after 9 days of age, all the parent pigeons were fed with the original pellet feed. Therefore, improper preparation of feed in the latter two periods can easily lead to indigestion, crop accumulation and inflammation. In addition to feeding digestive drugs to parent pigeons, suckling pigeons can be fed with vitamin B1 and yeast tablets separately to help digestion.

Pay attention to the cleanliness of drinking water

After cleaning the pigeon house every morning, wash the water tank and fill it with clean drinking water. The drinking tank is cleaned and disinfected with 0.2% potassium permanganate water every 4 to 5 days, and 0.1% potassium permanganate solution is often used for breeding pigeons to drink, which can prevent gastroenteritis and crop inflammation of squab.
