In order to improve the milk yield of dairy cows, feeding succulent feed to dairy cows is a very important technical measure. The succulent feeds that can increase the milk yield of dairy cows are root tuber feed and melon and fruit feed. The water content of these feeds is generally as high as 70%-90%, the content of sugar and starch in dry matter is high, the content of cellulose is not more than 10%, and there is a certain amount of minerals. Feeding practice has proved that this kind of feed has good palatability, and its digestibility is as high as 80%-90%. It is an important feed to increase milk yield of dairy cows.

Beet

Sugar beet dry matter contains sugar 5%-6%, protein 1%-2%, crude fiber 1.7%, and nitrogen-free extract about 9%. When feeding, it should be washed and chopped first. Each cow can be fed 30kg / d. Beet feed should not be kept for too long, so as not to form nitrate and cause cow poisoning. Beet dregs

Fresh beet dregs contain 90% water, 0.9% crude protein, 0.1% crude fat, 2.6% crude fiber, 3.5% nitrogen-free extract, but no carotene and vitamin D. Feeding beet dregs can provide cows with the necessary fillers. Beet dregs can be fed 3-5 kg per cow per day.

Potatoes

Potatoes contain an average of 22% dry matter, 1.6% crude protein, 0.1% crude fat, 0.7% crude fiber and 18.7% nitrogen-free extract. Every 3.5 to 4 kilograms of potatoes is equivalent to 1 kilogram of cereal, and about 80% of the dry matter is starch, which is easy to digest, but it is deficient in methionine, calcium, phosphorus and carotene, which is a typical carbohydrate concentrate with high water content. It is also one of the main energy sources of dairy cows. Each cow is fed 20 to 26 kilograms a day, and pay attention to matching protein, minerals and vitamin supplements in the diet.

Carrot

The dry matter content of carrots is 12%, and most of them are soluble sugars, containing crude protein 1.1%, crude fat 0.3%, crude fiber 1.2%, and nitrogen-free extract 8.4%. It is a high-quality succulent feed for male, dairy and young animals. When feeding, you should first wash and cut fine. Each cow and breeder bull should be fed 20-25 kg and 5-7 kg per day. When storing, it is best to bury it with wet sand to prevent decay and nutrient depletion.
