Taichung City plans to subsidize 49 manufacturers this year
Taichung City Economic Development Bureau continued to promote local SBIR program subsidies this year, and helped manufacturers understand relevant regulations and procedures through explanation meetings. A total of 49 manufacturers received subsidies this year. The municipal government invested a total of 40,239,000 yuan in subsidies, and manufacturers invested about 40 million yuan in research and development. After successful technology development, it is expected to promote investment of about 100 million yuan and output value of 600 million yuan.
Taichung City government promotes SBIR program, focusing on six industries: subsidized metal machinery, livelihood chemical industry, food and biotechnology medical treatment, innovative service-service value addition, innovative service-business model, green energy saving, smart life and photoelectric information communication.
A total of 117 companies applied for the program this year, and 49 companies were selected by the SBIR Technical Review Committee of Taichung City. For example, Chiyuan Biotech has developed far-infrared sleep aids to improve sleep quality, while Quanxin Development Co., Ltd. has designed a low-resistance, tubeless design with high safety wheels.
Vantay Research and Innovation Co., Ltd. designed an environmentally friendly sterile filter cup; Yao Ling Optoelectronics Co., Ltd. uses CCD vision identification to automatically scan and detect panel defects, which not only shortens inspection time, but also improves production and reduces labor costs.
Lu Yaozhi, director of the Economic Development Bureau, said that he hoped manufacturers would continue to develop leading new products and strengthen cooperation with academic research institutions. The Economic Development Bureau will continue to strive for central resources to assist Taichung City's business upgrading and transformation and develop the city's creative economy.
