Pingxi has more than just sky lamps! New Taipei City Cultural Bureau directs the New Pingxi Coal Mine Museum Park to hold "Coal Memory-Taiji Coal Mine Culture Special Exhibition" for two months from October 10 to November 30. The exhibition will be loaned to the Tagawa Carboniferous History Museum in Japan. The "Miner Painting" of Yamamoto Sakubei, a miner and coal mine record painter in Fukuoka Prefecture of Kyushu, is well known for its paintings registered in the UNESCO Memory of the World Heritage Site. The hope is that taiwanese miners will find common memories of coal through abandoned mines, objects and paintings.

Zhou Chaonan, 72 years old, who once served as the director of Pingxi Coal Mine, also exhibited photos of miners collected for many years, including miners gathering at the pit mouth waiting to enter the pit, taking a trolley into the pit, taking a bath together out of the pit, from the actual situation of miners 'work to life drops, etc. It is precious to lift the black veil of mine work and let everyone know the past of the former miners.

Gong Junyi, general manager of Xinpingxi Coal Mine Museum Park, said that the exhibition also exhibited dozens of works of Yamamoto Sakubei miners listed as World Memory Heritage by UNESCO. The most special thing about his paintings is that almost every painting records the mining process and mood of miners in words. Although Taiwanese and Japanese miners have different nationalities, their mining fields and daily lives are surprisingly similar. Kung hopes that through this activity, they can jointly retrieve the memories of coal mines and their feelings for the land.

The activity also specially arranged the activity of "Miners Return to their Mother's Home" in combination with the celebration of the museum, inviting the old miners to wear the clothes and equipment of the year to return to the mine for aftertaste.
