Ryegrass has rich nutrition, good palatability, no downy leaves and soft leaves, so it is an excellent feed for geese, and the feeding rate can reach 100%. Under normal circumstances, the feeding period of each lion-headed goose is 70 days, and about 180 kg ~ 200 kg of fresh ryegrass is needed.

The method of raising geese with ryegrass

1. The feeding method of young geese: because the digestive organs of the goslings at the age of 1 month are still in the stage of development, the functions of digestion and absorption are weak, so the fresh grass after cutting must be cut into pieces 1 cm ~ 2 cm long and mixed with a small amount of concentrate (the ratio of grass slices to concentrate is about 10 ∶ 1, that is, 10 kg of green grass with 1 kg of Zhengda Kangdi chicken flower feed) and fed 4 ~ 5 times a day.

two。 The feeding method of geese: in the second month of age, geese grow vigorously and eat a lot. During this period, fresh ryegrass should be kept in sufficient supply. Each goose can use 1.5 kg ~ 2 kg per day, while concentrate should be reduced. Generally, 14 kg of ryegrass with 1 kg of concentrate can meet its weight gain needs. Cut the grass into 2 cm ~ 3 cm.

3. The feeding method of geese: after 60 days of age, each goose can use 2 kg ~ 2.5 kg of green ryegrass every day, the amount of concentrate can be reduced again, and the amount of ripe sweet potato can be increased to achieve the purpose of fattening.

Matters needing attention in raising geese with ryegrass

1. Goslings can be fed with chopped ryegrass from the third day of age. When using grass, you should consider adding concentrate instead of simply feeding with grass.

two。 As the freshly harvested ryegrass is fresh and tender and has high water content, the dew or Rain Water should be dried and then fed to the goose to prevent the goose from pulling thin dung.

3. A large amount of feed, the goose can not be eaten for a while, the leftover grass will be trampled on will cause pollution or waste, so a small number of times should be used to feed the goose without waste.

4. Meals should be added at night to promote growth. Because the lion head goose has strong digestibility and is easy to starve, it should be fed again with some concentrate at about 12:00 in the evening, which can accelerate the growth and fattening of the goose and shorten the feeding period of the meat goose.

5. In the late growth stage of ryegrass, that is, before the land is ploughed in spring in the following year, the remaining fresh grass in the field can be harvested and made into silage.
