Mountain rose, also known as "mountain rose" and "mountain rose", English name is Mountain Rose. Although it has the word "rose", it is not a flower, but a kind of succulent plant, also known as a succulent plant, for the Crassulaceae, lotus palm.

Mountain rose leaves are greyish green, blue-green, green several kinds, experienced the sun exposure, the leaves will grow reddish-brown stripes. Some varieties of foliage also like a layer of white powder, and long fine hair.

Although mountain roses are evergreen all the year round, they also know how to combine work and rest. After the growth period, they will enter the dormant period and give themselves a holiday. Every year from mid-September to June of the following year is its growth period, July, August, after entering the summer, afraid of heat it began to enter the dormant period, just want to sleep quietly.

During the dormancy period, we should not take it lightly and arrange a good environment for it. Ensure good ventilation, control the amount of watering, not only to avoid sun exposure, but also to avoid rain, so that it can spend the summer safely in a ventilated, dry and cool environment.

Mountain roses are at their most beautiful when they close their leaves slightly during dormancy, just like rosebuds that bloom at any time.

Mountain rose dormancy is also caused by the environment. It turns out that mountain roses are native to the Canary Islands and nearby islands such as Gran Canaria, Tenerife, El Hierro, La Gomera and La Palma. In these areas, there is little rain in summer. In order to survive the difficult summer, plants have evolved countermeasures. Some varieties will gradually tighten their rosette leaves, tightly encasing the plant and reducing water emission. Correspondingly, the outer leaves will turn orange-red; some varieties will spread the leaves and emit heat. Even abandon the old leaves and keep only the central leaves fresh. In the wet and cold autumn and winter, the temperature decreases, precipitation increases, and the plants begin to grow again, changing their new colors.
