When the male quail reaches the age of 5 weeks, it can be determined whether to leave seed or not, and for those who do not leave seed, fattening can be eliminated. When female quails lay eggs for 1 ~ 1.5 years and the laying rate is less than 30%, fattening should also be eliminated. How can we speed up the fattening process?

First, put it into the fattening box and raise it. The fattening box is a multi-layer overlapping type, with a height of 10 cm to 12 cm each, to prevent male quails from riding and pressing each other. The area of each box is 0.3 square meters. there is a fence at the front and rear of the box at a distance of about 2.5 centimeters, so that the quails can reach out to eat and drink. The left and right sides and top of the box are fitted with fibreboard. Barbed wire with 1cm × 1cm mesh at the bottom of the box.

Second, keep the light dark and quiet. The fattening of eliminated quails should be carried out in a dark and quiet room, and the indoor temperature should be 18 ℃ ~ 25 ℃. Be on guard against any harassment.

Third, restrict exercise as much as possible. Eliminated male and female quails should be raised separately and should not be mixed in the same fattening box. The breeding density should be increased appropriately, and 30 quails can be eliminated in each box. By restricting its movement, it can reduce feed consumption.

Fourth, improve feed quality. For the fattening feed for eliminated quails, corn, wheat bran, rice and other carbohydrate-rich feed should be given priority to, which can account for 75%-80% of the diet; protein feed can be reduced to 18%; 0.5% salt should be added to the feed to stimulate its drinking water; and appropriate addition of green feed should be added. In the process of fattening, feed can be fed 4 times every day and night, in order to be full, drinking water should be clean and adequate.

Fifth, put it on the market at the right time. The fattening period of eliminated quails is usually 2 to 3 weeks. When each quail weighs 120 to 140 grams and has a sense of fullness in its hand, when the feathers at the root of its wings are blown up, it can be seen that the skin color is white or yellowish, it can be sold on the market. If it is raised beyond the time limit, it will increase feed consumption.
