Meat goose refers to the 20-day-old ~ 70-day-old goslings. Its digestive organs gradually develop, food intake increases significantly, digestive ability, disease resistance and adaptability to the external environment are enhanced, and grow rapidly, so there must be enough feed to meet its nutritional needs. Grazing is the most suitable and economical way to raise meat geese.

Grazing site selection. In the period of goslings, pastures with nearer, tender grass and flat grassland should be selected for grazing. The goslings are weak and slow to walk. if the road is long, they should be transported to grazing in baskets or cages and returned at noon or evening. The grazing ground should be observed in advance and grazing in rotation should be arranged in a planned way, so that each goslings can eat fresh and tender forage grass.

Grazing time. Usually once in the morning and once in the afternoon. When it is hot, get out early in the morning and go home late in the afternoon. At noon, let the goose rest under the Arbor. When it's cold, get out late in the morning and go home early in the afternoon. When grazing and going home, count the quantity in case you lose it.

Pay attention to the water. Whenever after picking food, drive the goose into the water, about half an hour at a time, release water to help digestion. Continue to graze after going ashore to rest. When it is hot, it is necessary to increase the number of times to release water.

Feed at night. Practice has proved that the meat geese fed once or twice at night grow faster. Feed can be mainly green material, mixed with appropriate amount of bran.

Prevent pesticide poisoning. Before grazing, you should know in advance whether pesticides have been applied to the grazing route and site. Usually also prepare antidote, in order to timely rescue.

Field management. Grazing in the wild is easy to mix with other geese and cause disputes. Therefore, it is necessary to make a good mark, such as cutting web or painting color, etc. When grazing, in order not to separate the geese, you can insert sticks into the grass and hang straw hats or clothes; put in a male goose, the effect is better, because the male goose instinct is very strong.

To prevent water damage. In the cold winter season, goslings are often kept in captivity. When the weather turns fine for grazing, be sure to let the geese feed on the right amount of grass and drinking water before grazing, and avoid water sources. Otherwise, the geese will drill into the water as soon as they see the pond, wash and drink, which is easy to cause water damage. Generally, when the goose flock grows to the age of 60 ~ 70 days, the breeding geese can be selected, and the goslings without breeding can be fattened out.
