Cucumber is a boron-loving crop, which requires more boron during its growth and development, especially during flowering and fruiting. Once the supply of boron fertilizer is insufficient, it will affect pollination and fertilization, cause melons, lead to melon falling, reduce melon fruiting rate, and form deformed melons, such as curved melon, pointed-mouth melon, big-bellied melon, and so on. Therefore, during the flowering and fruiting period of cucumber, we should pay attention to supplement boron fertilizer to ensure the supply of boron fertilizer and prevent the plant from boron deficiency. The specific practices are as follows.

When cucumber seedlings survive to 6 to 8 new leaves and begin to appear buds, boron fertilizer should be added in time, combined with promoting flower and protecting melon, 0.1% borax aqueous solution or 0.1% boric acid aqueous solution, or 1000 times fluid boron water solution, or 1000 times active boron water solution, etc. should be sprayed on the leaves every 10 to 15 days, mixed with 600 and 800 times amino acid compound micro-fertilizer solution for 3 times.

Spray all leaves and buds evenly, so as to start dripping water. Boron fertilizer is most easily absorbed after dew drying in the morning to before the appearance of high temperature strong sunshine and at the end of high temperature strong sunshine weather, that is, 8: 11 o'clock and 16: 19 o'clock, and the effect of boron supplement is the best. Do not spray under high temperature and strong sunshine. In addition, when direct seeding cucumber seeds or transplanting cucumber seedlings, 0.5 kilogram of boron per mu was used as base fertilizer, which also had a good effect of boron supplement.
