The absorption of potassium by apple trees is generally from early July to early August. Applying appropriate amount of potassium fertilizer to fruit trees during this period can significantly increase the fruit size, increase sugar content, improve chromaticity, bright fruit color, smooth peel, flavor and taste and other internal quality can be improved. If the same amount of potash fertilizer is applied in early spring or before flowering, it will have no obvious effect on yield or chromaticity. It is appropriate to apply one kilogram of pure potassium per 100 kg of yield. If excessive application, on the contrary, the physiological function of fruit trees will be damaged, affecting the absorption and utilization of other elements. Excessive application of potassium fertilizer in apple trees shows magnesium deficiency, and the content of calcium in the trees will be relatively reduced.

In addition, when applying potash fertilizer, potassium sulfate with high absorption and utilization rate and obvious effect should be selected, followed by potassium chloride, and organic fertilizer with high potassium content such as plant ash or rotten chicken manure can also be sprinkled under the tree, and then watered in shallow burial.
