As far as pig breeding is concerned, increasing feed intake can maximize meat yield and meat quality. during feeding, we should find ways to improve feed palatability, so that pigs are willing and take the initiative to eat and increase feed intake.

The study on the use of flavor agents showed that pigs had a very significant preference for sweets. Compound sweeteners (containing 6.7% saccharin sodium and other long-acting flavor enhancers and synergists) could increase feed intake of piglets, but too high or too low addition level was not conducive to feed intake of piglets. During the growth stage of piglets (1-28 days), compound sweeteners supplemented with 150mg/kg could reach the maximum daily feed intake. At the same time, the maximum daily weight gain at this stage can also be obtained. In addition, there are experiments to prove that the fragrance agent has the function of anti-oxidation, with the extension of feed storage time, fragrance agent can effectively alleviate the degree of feed oxidation.

The following measures can be taken to prevent mildew and oxidation of feed: (1) the moisture content of the stored feed should be controlled within a certain range, generally no more than 12%, and the ventilation, thermal insulation and ground moisture protection of the warehouse should be in place. If the relative humidity is controlled below 60%, the humidity is too high to cause mold breeding, and it is not conducive to the preservation of high-fat feed. (2) the most suitable temperature for mold growth is 2838 ℃, so it is necessary to control the temperature of the warehouse to prevent mildew, and the highly unsaturated fatty acids in feed are easy to oxidize and rancidity at higher temperature. (3) rational use of some anti-mildew powder and antioxidants to deal with some emergency feed mildew and rancidity, but this will affect the nutritional value of feed, so long-term use is not recommended.

Reasonable processing it has been reported that if the crushed grain feed is remade into pellet feed, the feed utilization rate can be increased by about 23%. In the process of granulation, the feed will undergo steam treatment and high pressure squeezing in the process of pressing, which makes the feed grain cells break and release intracellular substances to increase the nutritional composition of the feed. At the same time, after the feed is made into pellets, it has good palatability, reduces energy consumption when eating, and can make the feed more uniform, which can prevent pigs from choosing certain feed ingredients to eat.

The elimination of anti-nutritional factors is the main factor restricting feed utilization. In order to reduce or eliminate the influence of anti-nutritional factors, a variety of measures can be taken. The main treatment methods include physical treatment, chemical treatment, breeding of new varieties and biological treatment. Most antinutritional factors have thermal instability, such as various protease inhibitors, lectins, antivitamin factors and so on, which can be denatured by heating.
