Hang the vine and release the vine

Generally, the stems and vines of zucchini cultivated in the field are creeping on the ground. The cultivation density of zucchini in the greenhouse is high. In order to make the plants receive good light and be conducive to growth, but also conducive to pollination, spraying and harvesting and other field operations, it is necessary to hang vines to make their stems grow upright. When hanging the vine, first pull a north-south wire on each line. Each melon plant uses a rope, and the lower end of the rope is fixed on the ground or tied to the base of the zucchini stem with a wooden stake. As the vine grows, the rope and the vine can be wrapped around each other. It can also be inserted into a rack, that is, a thick bamboo pole is inserted next to each seedling, and then the vine is tied up with Iris or plastic rope. When binding the vine, you should be careful not to wrap the rope around the melon, and at the same time, adjust the petiole of the plant to expand horizontally with the binding vine. The binding of vines should be carried out frequently, and individual taller plants can be bent to reach the growth point at the same height. If the growing period is long and the stem is high, you can release the vine properly.

Plant regeneration

In greenhouse zucchini cultivation, the growth period is long, and the plant enters the senescence stage in the later stage. If the main vine is aging or poor growth, you can choose 1 or 2 side vines to wait for the appearance of female flowers, and then cut off the original main vine to promote the lateral vine to bear melon.

Timely removal of diseased, disabled, old leaves, lateral buds and tendrils

Zucchini leaves are large, petioles long, easy to shade each other, so diseased, residual leaves and lower withered, yellow and old leaves should be removed as soon as possible, so as not to cause disease and consume too much nutrients. Zucchini is mainly based on the main vine, so the growth advantage of the main vine should be maintained and the lateral buds should be erased as soon as possible. For some young melons that are partially yellowed due to insufficient nutrient supply, they should be removed in time to reduce nutrient loss and avoid the spread of diseases. Tendril growth also consumes nutrients and should be removed as soon as possible. If there are too many male flowers in the middle and later stage, they should also be removed. After pruning and thinning leaves, agricultural streptomycin should be sprayed on the wound to prevent wound infection.
