Scabies is a parasitic disease on the skin of pigs, which is characterized by itching and inflammation of the skin. Due to friction on the body surface of diseased pigs, the skin is thick, rough and depilated, and crusts are formed in the face, ears, shoulders, abdomen and other places such as trauma, bleeding and blood coagulation.

(1) skin allergic reaction type

Skin anaphylaxis is the most common and easily overlooked, and the main infection is common in suckling pigs and nursery pigs; it can occur all the year round, especially in spring and summer, autumn and winter, and the main clinical symptoms are as follows:

1. Suckling pigs and nursery pigs are easy to be infected. As an indication of scabies mite infection, itching is more reliable than finding mites. Excessive scratching and scratching make pig skin turn red; tissue fluid exudates and forms black crusts after drying up.

2. Suckling pigs and nursery pigs were infected with scabies at the initial stage, starting from the head, eye, cheek and ear root, and then spread to the back and the inside of the hind limbs.

3. After infected with mites, the mites tunnel in the pig skin and lay eggs, suck lymph and secrete toxins. After 3 weeks, the skin lesions often arise from the head, especially small crusts (black) around the ears, eyes and nose, and then spread to the whole body surface, tail and limbs, resulting in erythema, papules, black crusts, and causing delayed and rapid allergic reactions, resulting in strong itching. Due to itching, it affects the normal feeding and rest of diseased pigs, and reduces the function of digestion and absorption.

4. Diseased pigs often rub the diseased parts on the walls, pens and grooves, causing local depilation. In the cold season, due to hair removal and exposed skin, a large amount of body temperature is distributed, and a large amount of accumulated fat in the body is consumed, resulting in weight loss, and sometimes death when the secondary infection is serious.

5. When the infection of swine scabies is serious, it causes bleeding, connective tissue hyperplasia and skin thickening, causing damage to pig skin, easy to cause Staphylococcus aureus comprehensive infection, and eczema exudative dermatitis in pigs. the affected part rapidly extends to the whole body and is highly contagious, resulting in a serious decline in pig physique, failure and death.

(2) skin keratosis transitional type

The main results are as follows: 1. With the development of the course of scabies mite infection and the regression of allergic reaction (usually a few months later), excessive keratinization of skin and proliferation of connective tissue occur. Pig skin thickens, forming large skin wrinkles, cracking, depilation, rough and dandruff coat. It is common in adult pigs to form gray, loose thick scabs on the inside of the auricle, around the neck, and on the lower limbs, especially at the ankle joint. Often tickle with hooves or rub the skin on walls and fences, resulting in depilation and skin damage, cracking and bleeding.

2. The ears of parturient sows and breeding boars are the main source of infection of mites in pig farms, and piglets are often infected by sows when they are breast-fed. The skin of the body and ear of the parturient sow itches excessively, the skin of the fat pig itches when rubbing the skin on the wall, and itches the hoof after using it.

In short, severe itching, hair removal, scab, skin wrinkles or cracks and Staphylococcus aureus mixed infection to form eczema exudative dermatitis, the affected area gradually spread around and highly contagious. Cao Yonghui
