In order to increase the yield of summer cucumber and achieve high yield and income, the management of summer cucumber should be done in four aspects.

First, reasonable topdressing

Cucumber likes fertilizer and needs more nitrogen and potassium in the fruiting period, so after the first melon harvest, it is necessary to re-apply topdressing once, applying 30 kg nitrogen and potassium fertilizer per mu. After entering the full melon period, open ditches in the middle of the border, topdressing every 10 days or so, apply 15 kg compound fertilizer per mu, and cover the soil after application. In the later stage of melon fruiting, it is necessary to carry out extra-root topdressing combined with spraying, foliar spraying potassium dihydrogen phosphate, magnesium sulfate, boron and other trace elements or urea aqueous solution to prolong the functional period of leaves, prevent premature senescence, promote the growth of cucumber and increase the yield in the later stage.

2. Water management

Flowering and fruiting period is also a hot and hot season, and the transpiration of plants is very strong. in order to ensure the demand for water in flowering and fruiting, we must ensure an adequate water supply. In case of long-term sunny days or high temperature and drought conditions, small water can be watered in the morning and evening, watering should be guaranteed about 5 days in the peak period of melon, and water should be sprayed in the morning or evening if necessary, so as to reduce the temperature and increase the number of female flowers.

III. Disease prevention and pest control

Fusarium wilt was sprayed with 80x solution of 70% dioxon or 800x solution of 20% lixivium, downy mildew was sprayed with 500x solution of 58% ribavirin or 750x solution of 72% Klu, powdery mildew was sprayed with 2000-fold solution of 20% trimethoprim or 3000-fold solution of 2.5% Uranus, bacterial angular spot was sprayed with 200ppm agricultural streptomycin, and melon aphid was sprayed with 3000-fold solution of chlorhexidine or 2.5-fold solution of Uranus. Melon silk borer is sprayed with 50% Kulong 800 times solution or Bacillus thuringiensis preparation and so on.

IV. Timely harvest

Cucumbers can be harvested 8-10 days after flowering. Harvest should be carried out in the early morning, the afternoon harvest is not only easy to make melons and fruits bitter, affect the quality, but also because the temperature is too high, not resistant to storage and transportation, reducing commerciality.
