Taichung City Youth Placement Farmer training Rural New Blood nearly 90% stay in Agriculture for Development

Last year, the Taichung Municipal Government began to promote the "Youth Placement and worship inheritance Program". By opening up diversified courses and selecting outstanding worshippers, the Taichung Municipal Government taught young farmers about production, packaging, marketing and even after-sales service after self-production and marketing. encourage young people to return to their hometown to work in agriculture, inject new blood into the rural areas, and improve the aging of the agricultural population and the low income of agriculture. A total of 46 trainees were trained in the first Youth Placement Program, and nearly 90% of them stayed in the agricultural field after the training with fruitful results.

After taking office, Lin Jialong, mayor of Taichung, promoted the "Youth worship and inheritance Program". In addition to providing a monthly living allowance of 30,000 yuan a year, so that students can feel at ease to learn agriculture-related knowledge, they also asked agricultural organizations and agricultural colleges to help recommend agricultural industry talents in various districts, and set up agricultural worship inheritance counseling teams, so that students can study with virtuous worship according to their learning wishes and pass on professional cultivation skills.

The first Youth Canon Program trained a total of 46 trainees, and with 17 Xianbai students, it concluded training on July 1 this year. After the training, the number of farmers was determined to be 41, and the retention rate after training reached 89.1%. Since July this year, the Youth Cannon Program has entered the second session, training a total of 37 young farmers and employing 21 Xianbai to teach agriculture-related knowledge. at present, the trainees are in good learning condition.

In order to attract more young people to agriculture, the Bureau of Agriculture has also planned to produce an 11-episode series of programs entitled "overturning Agriculture ─ Youth Farmers come", showing young people embarking on their entrepreneurial journey and reversing the life story of agriculture after joining the program, hoping to call on more young people to join Taiwan's agriculture and work in Taichung.
