The top (growing point) of a cucumber plant is called a bibcock. Under normal circumstances, the cucumber bibcock stretches upright, looks like a bud from the side, and is surrounded by two tender leaves. In the case of temperature discomfort and poor root development, it will lead to abnormal changes in the shape of the bibcock. As growers, according to the different symptoms shown by the cucumber "bibcock", we should find out the causes, symptomatic prevention and treatment, in order to obtain a more ideal yield.

1. If it is found that lobules, tendrils and female flowers tighten together in the shape of a fist, it means that the temperature is low and the moisture is less; if the bibcock is too loose, it means that the temperature is high and moisture is much; if the bibcock is scattered, the bud protrudes and blossoms, indicating that the temperature at night is relatively low; if the bibcock shrinks, the root system is particularly weak or seriously damaged.

two。 If the faucet stops growing, the old leaves have white spots and then turn brown and die, indicating that the night temperature is about 5 ℃ for a long time; if the faucet becomes smaller, the top of the melon button is above the faucet, the tendrils bend, and the petals are small and light, indicating lack of water; if the faucet clasps, the leaf wilts, the leaf edge turns downward, the texture becomes brittle, and there are white spots on the leaf, indicating high temperature and insufficient moisture. If the lower leaf of the plant is basically normal, but the upper leaf becomes smaller and the stem becomes thinner, the uppermost first unfolded leaf bends forward, the growth point becomes smaller and shrinks, and the melon position moves up or not, which indicates that the plant growth potential is weak.

3. After planting, the plant grows slowly or not, the leaves are few and small, the growing point shrinks, and the heavy growing point disappears, indicating that the planting is too deep or improper watering (such as watering too late or too early, or insufficient water, or low water temperature but large water, etc.); after planting, the leaves of the plant are small, the position of melon is moved up, the growing point shrinks and becomes smaller, and the heavy flower topping, indicating that the concentration of nitrogen and phosphorus in the soil is too high, or the plant is malnourished.

4. For example, the top of the faucet and side branches withered and the young leaves curled to death, which is the manifestation of boron deficiency of cucumber; if the growing point of the leading part disappears, it may be caused by low temperature freezing injury, or the plant is extremely lack of nutrition, or mite damage, or disease; if spring cucumbers in greenhouse harvest root melons too late, it is also easy to cause the growth point to disappear.
