How to prolong the high-yielding years of leek

The tillering ability of leek is very strong, and there is a phenomenon of root jumping (that is, with the gradual upward movement of the tiller of leek, the rooting position of leek is also rising), so sustained growth will often lead to a significant decrease in yield and quality after three or four years of planting leek. Vegetable farmers must replant leek in order to ensure high quality and high yield. So, how can we ensure the high yield of leek for more years?

First, the distance between leek beds should be determined reasonably. Green leek does not need to be covered with soil in winter production, as long as set aside a place for wind barrier and walking operation, so the distance between leek beds is about 0.8 meters. White leek needs to take soil from the front of the leek bed in winter, and the amount of soil is relatively large, so in addition to setting aside a wind barrier between the two leek beds, it is also necessary to set aside a convenient place for soil collection, so the width between the leek beds should be large. Generally, the distance between the two leek beds is about 1.6 meters.

Second, close planting should be done scientifically. Leek is planted too densely during planting, although it can quickly achieve high yield, it is also easy to cause the yield and quality of leek to decrease rapidly after 3 years of planting, and vegetable farmers have to renew their seedlings, which is laborious and laborious, so we should pay attention to reasonable close planting when planting.

Vegetable farmers in the planting leek, generally according to the two-meter-long leek ridge planting 3040, row spacing of about 28 cm, that is, can prolong the leek renewal life, and is conducive to the growth of leek sturdy, good quality. Because leek tillers most rapidly in the first year after planting, so if the leek planted in that year is used to produce white leek, the yield per ridge can reach about 2.5 kg, and the yield can reach about 4 kg in the second year, and can be maintained for 3 years. If vegetable farmers plant about 50 leeks according to two-meter-long ridges, although they can achieve a yield of about 3 kilograms per ridge in that year, the high yield period of leeks can only last for 2 years, which is not conducive to the improvement of leek production and efficiency in the long run.

Third, the planting depth should be reasonable. The deeper the planting of leek is, the weaker the tillering ability is, the slower the root jumping is, and the planting is too shallow, the tillering ability of leek is strong, and the root jumping occurs quickly, which will soon cause the root system of leek to grow above the ground and affect the planting life of leek. In general, the planting depth of leek is 5-6 cm. This planting depth not only does not affect the tillering of the plant, but also prevents the root jumping of the plant from causing the planting life to be too short, and the renewal life of the leek border is extended to about 5 years.

Fourth, newly planted leeks can not leave leek bolts. In order to ensure the yield of leek and promote the expansion and tillering of pseudostem, we should pay attention to inhibit the reproductive growth of plant, promote the vegetative growth of plant, and remove the new leek stalk in time, so as to ensure that the nutrients produced by leaves are concentrated to supply the expansion of leek pseudostem, and lay the foundation for high quality and high yield in winter.
