In sheep production, all kinds of sheep diseases often occur, which can be divided into infectious diseases, parasitic diseases, common diseases and toxic diseases. On the other hand, infectious diseases and parasitic diseases have strong transmission, high mass incidence rate and great harmfulness, which seriously affect the health of sheep. Therefore, while developing sheep production, we must first do a good job in the prevention of sheep blight.

(1) strengthen feeding and management, do a good job in cleaning and hygiene: "Sheep take thin as the disease", "the disease starts from thin fat, and all kinds of diseases flourish when the body is weak." these are well-known proverbs. Strengthening feeding and management can enhance the physique of sheep, improve production performance, and is also the basis of epidemic prevention and disease eradication. Doing a good job in cleaning and sanitation can enhance the resistance of the body, eliminate the transmission of various pathogenic microorganisms in the external environment, and reduce the chance of infection, which is the key to epidemic prevention and eradication. The body can also gain immunity through vaccination, which is an important means of epidemic prevention and disease eradication. Only by closely combining the three and promoting each other can the policy of giving priority to prevention be realized. It is necessary to maintain pasture hygiene, eliminate rodent and animal pests, eliminate corpses, animal bones, eradicate poisonous weeds, and do not graze in wetlands; keep sheep sheephouses and playgrounds clean and dry, clean and disinfect regularly, and feces and dirt should be regularly removed and fermented; ensure sheep hygiene and give sheep medicine baths regularly every year to prevent the occurrence of external parasitic diseases.

(2) strictly implement the system of quarantine and disinfection: quarantine is an indispensable part of the policy of "giving priority to prevention". Through quarantine, the epidemic disease can be detected as early as possible, prevention and control measures can be taken in time, local control and eradication can be achieved, and the spread of the epidemic can be prevented. Quarantine is the regular health examination of sheep, sampling tests, timely detection of diseased sheep, isolation treatment or treatment, to remove the source of infection. After quarantine tests, newly purchased sheep are confirmed to be free from disease and can join the group to prevent the spread of the disease. Disinfection is to eliminate the harm of pathogenic microorganisms, parasites and eggs to sheep by various methods, and it is an important measure to prevent and eliminate epidemic diseases. Different disinfection methods can be selected according to different objects and requirements, such as physical disinfection, chemical disinfection and biological thermal disinfection. The objects of disinfection include sheds, feces, soil, corpses, clothing and so on.

(3) planned regular vaccination and deworming medicine bath: vaccination and deworming medicine bath are the two most important tasks of sheep epidemic prevention every year. Only according to the scientific immune procedure, vaccinating regularly and timely, strictly abiding by the operation rules in the anthelmintic bath, and accurately preparing the concentration of the solution, can the epidemic disease of sheep be effectively controlled. The effect of epidemic prevention depends on the health status of sheep, drug quality, operation technology and epidemic prevention density. An important experience of veterinary prevention and treatment is: "A hundred cure is not as good as a prevention (prevention), a hundred prevention is not as good as a scratch (catch fat)."
