Last Updated: 2024/12/22, Egg ducks can produce high yields in good winter and early spring.

If the egg duck is managed well in several key links during the overwintering period, the high yield in the coming year can be achieved and the breeding benefit can be ensured.

Reassemble the whole flock of laying ducks to eliminate the old, weak, sick and disabled ducks and low-yield ducks, so as to reduce death and feed consumption.

It is very important to keep the cold and warmth of the overwintering egg duck at room temperature. Only when the temperature in the house is kept above 5 ℃ at night can the high yield of eggs be ensured.

Thick mat grass in the egg laying area around the inner wall of the duck house, cushion 30 cm thick grass. After picking up eggs in the morning, the old grass in the egg laying area can be spread in the duck house. Before the duck enters the house every night, new grass is added as an egg nest to make the bedding grass accumulate gradually. Remove the old mat grass every few days to keep warm and save manpower.

During the overwintering period, nutritious laying ducks must appropriately increase the proportion of energy feed such as corn, increase the feeding amount by 10% to 15% compared with summer and autumn, and provide adequate green feed. The effect is better when 3% or 5% fat is added to the feed.

Adding night food to feed once at night can not only increase the nutrition of laying ducks, protect them from the cold, but also increase the laying rate by more than 10%. However, night feeding should be paid attention to: first, warm feed must be supplied; second, high-energy feed such as corn should be given priority to in night food, and protein feed should not be too much.

Hot feed concentrate feed needs to be prepared with warm hot water, drinking water also needs to be fed with warm hot water, and the best temperature is about 38 ℃.

Supplementary lighting requires no less than 16 hours of light per day. Can be installed in the duck shed every 30 square meters according to the amount of a 60-watt bulb to fill the light, the light bulb 2 meters high from the duck back, and installed with a lampshade, turn on the light at a fixed time in the morning and evening. Practice has proved that the laying rate can be increased by 20% after supplementary light.

In winter, laying ducks are fed with water twice a day, which can increase activity and improve the resistance of ducks. Swimming in the water is usually carried out when the temperature is high at noon.

The best density of overwintering ducks is 89 ducks per square meter, which is beneficial to the self-heat preservation of ducks.

Due to the need of heat preservation, ventilation and ventilation of the epidemic prevention overwintering ducks are affected, so attention should be paid to the cleanliness and hygiene of the house. After the ducks are out of the house, they should open windows for ventilation. Once sick ducks are found, timely isolation, diagnosis and treatment, and emergency disinfection of the duck house.
