2016 Pingtung Coffee Carnival to create an exclusive "Pingtung" brand

December is the harvest season for coffee. When the coffee fruit turns red, the farmers laugh! The Pingtung county government held the "2016 Pingtung Coffee Carnival" at the Youth P Base from August to 11th. Professional Pingtung coffee evaluation meetings, baking competitions and various sales activities will present the results of the promotion of the Pingtung coffee industry. On the morning of the 8th, County Mayor Pan Mengan personally presided over the opening ceremony, which was attended by 40 coffee roasters from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Malaysia. Pan County Mayor also demonstrated at the scene to use the triangle cup test method to select Pingtung local coffee.

Pan Mengan, the county magistrate, said that Pingtung coffee is highly competitive, and the county government has taken the initiative to coach farmers, turning their competition in the past into a mode of cooperation, and will build their own "Pingtung" brand in the future. This year, we will expand coffee-related activities, hoping to build Pingtung into the most professional and well-known coffee growing, manufacturing, collection and trading center in Taiwan through regular professional coffee activities.

Wu Lihua, director of the indigenous people, points out that the coffee planting area of 218 hectares and 360 coffee farmers in Pingtung County are the highest in Taiwan. In the 2016 Pingtung Coffee Competition, the authors of the well-known coffee bestsellers "Fine Coffee" and "long live Taiwan Coffee" were invited. Mr. Han Huaizong, who is known as the Godfather of Taiwan Coffee, led a panel of professional judges of the Taiwan Coffee Research Institute (TCL). The coffee bean samples of the coffee contest were invited to the 2014 WCE World Coffee roasting Competition, and Mr. Lai Quan of Taiwan served as the sample roaster.

The theme of the COFFEE POWER exhibition on the 11th is "eat, drink, play and have fun". You can eat the most characteristic coffee omelet, drink the most authentic hometown coffee, play the most special coffee sand paintings, and perform by local aboriginal folk bands, so that people can enjoy a coffee-themed feast on leisure weekends and holidays.
