Lamb foster care. If a female sheep has many lambs at one birth (or if the female sheep dies unexpectedly after childbirth), part of the lambs with more lambs in a litter can be divided into lambs with less lambs for breeding. In order to ensure the success of foster care, it is generally required that the delivery date of two ewes should be within 5 days, and the individual weight difference between two litters of lambs should not be too large. Lamb foster care should be carried out at night. Before foster care, spray liquid medicine or alcohol on two litters of lambs at the same time, or smear milk and urine of foster ewes.

Breastfeeding in batches. If the number of suckling lambs exceeds the number of teats of the ewe, the lambs can be divided into two groups, suckling in turn, and grouping the lambs according to size and strength. During batch lactation, the feeding management of nursing ewes must be strengthened to ensure the medium nutrition level of ewes and make ewes have sufficient milk. And do a good job of early feeding of suckling lambs, reduce the burden of ewe lactation as much as possible, and ensure the balanced growth of the whole litter lambs.

Artificial milk. Under the premise of ensuring that the lamb eats colostrum, the short-term supplementary feeding solution can usually be diluted with 20% milk, 10% white sugar, 70% water, boiled and cooled to about 37℃ instead of goat milk; rice soup plus white sugar or soybean milk plus white sugar can also be used instead of goat milk to feed the lamb. The artificial milk prepared by the above method is not comprehensive in nutrition and is only suitable for short-term use in the case of insufficient milk for a few lambs or ewes. If the number of lambs is large and the feeding time is long, scientific artificial milk formula should be adopted. Lambs before 20 days of age can be used wheat flour 50%, fried soybean flour 17%, corn flour 12%, skim milk powder 10%, yeast 4%, white sugar 4.5%, calcium powder 1.5%, salt 0.5%, trace element additives 0.5%, cod liver oil 12 drops, add water 5 ~8 times, stir well, boil and cool to 37℃ instead of milk to feed lambs. After 20 days old, lambs can be fed with corn flour 35%, wheat flour 25%, soybean cake powder 15%, fish meal 12%, bran 7%, yeast 3%, calcium powder 2%, salt 0.5%, trace element additive 0.5%, mixed with water and stirred. The amount of water added gradually changes from more to less, and the lambs are slowly fed with dry feed.
